Two years, and a life taking shape
By the second year, a relationship can have its own small geography: the first shared doorstep, a favourite table, the corner where you leave a light on. Start there.

A convention, if it means something to you
Hallmark’s US anniversary guide associates the 2nd anniversary with cotton traditionally and china in its modern list. This is one publisher’s gift convention, not a rule for every country or relationship. A Starmap print does not acquire those materials by marking that year.
US editorial convention only; not a worldwide history, local-language review or Starmap material specification.

Choose a routine that became a memory
A wedding is a clear anniversary anchor, but it need not be the only beginning worth framing. Think about the day you first carried keys to the same home, the night you cooked together without a recipe, or an ordinary journey that became your route. Choose something your partner would recognise without needing an elaborate explanation. If you cannot remember its exact date, do not turn a guess into a claimed fact. A known first-home date may serve the story better.

Let the person decide the shape of the gift
| What they enjoy | A thoughtful direction | Keep separate |
|---|---|---|
| Making a home together | A print for a place you both chose, with words from your shared routines. | The printed place name and the coordinates used to calculate the sky. |
| A useful everyday object | An independently chosen cotton item or piece of tableware, if they would use it. | An anniversary convention and an obligation to buy something. |
| Time rather than more things | A familiar walk, an evening free of jobs, or a meal you prepare. | The feeling of a gift and its price or permanence. |
Turn an ordinary detail into a dedication
Write the detail first
Describe what actually happens: “You always leave the kitchen light on.” A specific observation gives you more to work with than a grand claim about perfect love.
Find the feeling beneath it
Perhaps the detail means welcome, safety or being expected. Keep that meaning, without reproducing a private story that the recipient would rather keep off the wall.
Make one short line
Try an original line such as “A light on. A place for us.” Read it out loud and change it until it sounds like you. A separate note can hold the longer story.
Make room for the home you have now
Compare the existing wall art before choosing a palette or format. The actual portrait formats are 30 × 40, 40 × 50 and 50 × 70 cm; a frame adds to those paper dimensions. A small home can still have one deliberate focal print. Deep sky and Celestial give the same moment different visual voices, so choose the one that belongs beside the objects already there.
Pair it only when the pairing has a reason
A separately sourced cotton napkin, a favourite mug or a handwritten letter can make a personal presentation. These are suggestions to arrange yourself, not a Starmap bundle, gift-wrap service or promise that different sellers will deliver together. If your partner dislikes wall art, the other gesture can be the whole gift.
A second year, without a script
Can we use our first-home date?
Yes. Use that home’s actual location and the known date/time, or a clearly disclosed unknown-time assumption. Explain the choice in the dedication if it differs from your wedding date.

No. Cotton and china are optional US-list associations here. Your partner’s tastes, needs and memories are better guides than a material checklist.
